COURSE: ACTING FOR STAGE & SCREEN
QUALIFICATION: LEVEL 3 EXTENDED NATIONAL DIPLOMA
CONTACT HOURS: 25+ PER WEEK

Our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Acting for Stage and Screen is unique in its approach, with a focus on practical and vocational training. The Acting Course is designed to allow pupils who want to become actors and pursue a career on stage or screen, to fully explore and develop their potential.

It enables them to gain a deeper understanding of the Performing Arts, and the fundamental skills, techniques and methodologies of professional acting. The acting students have the opportunity to study Western theatre practises both British and American exploring the methodologies of Stanislavski, Meisner and Hagen. Each student receives training in voice and movement to complement their approach to acting.

The course also covers: Improvisation, Shakespeare, Classical Theatre, Audition Repertoire, and a wide and varied range of Acting Styles. Students are encouraged to think about what vocational schools or universities they aspire to gain a place at, based on their expertise. They are advised to attend open days and look through college prospectuses, with help from their tutors at The PAD.

Acting students will be advised on the best Universities and Vocational Schools to apply for, based upon their skill set and aspirations. We actively encourage our students to attend Open Days and our Acting students are offered one to one support from our Head of Acting to help them make an informed choice that is absolutely right for them.

As with our Performing Arts course, Actors have the opportunity to perform throughout the year in many different events, from workshops through to stage performances. These performances will often involve auditions, thus cementing the skills required by our students and giving them the best chance of progressing in their chosen field. Actors will be involved in solo performances, group pieces and have the opportunity to showcase their own work. We believe that this creates Actors who have a broad range of skills to draw upon, enabling them to progress to the next level of their career.
