Calling all young performers aged 8-18 years, passionate about musical theatre! Audition for your chance to take part in Dunstable's first Summer Youth Project and be part of the production of Legally Blonde Jr!!

A fortnight of creative performing arts learning, costumes and performances starting Monday 29th July 2024 at Dunstable’s very own PAD Studios.

Spend a fortnight working with West End & industry professional directors & choreographers, create a full scale musical and perform on stage for two shows at The Grove Theatre!

The PAD recognises that the passion for the arts and performing is nurtured at a young age, and there is a big hole in the local calendar, without a summer performing arts project running in Dunstable during the summer holidays!

So, for summer 2024, why not join us from Monday 29th July to Saturday 10th August to develop your stagecraft and take part in creating the musical theatre production of Legally Blonde Jr., which will be performed on the final Saturday to an audience of over 700?!

The Summer Youth Project, run by PAD tutors and faculty, will offer a safe environment to continue training throughout the summer holiday, with full days of training and rehearsals.

Days will commence from 10am through to until at least 4pm (later if you are cast as a principal role).

Whether you are passionate about singing, dancing or acting, you can take part in this musical theatre project and train with PAD tutors during your summer break!

For Parents/Guardians, SYP offers an alternative childcare option with additional morning drop-offs available from 8am and evening later collections until 6pm (for an additional charge).

SYP is suitable for children ages 8 years old to 18 years old.
(SYP is open to all! - You do not need to be a member of The PAD or OPDA to be part of SYP!)

Ages 8-12yrs will audition 10am-1am

Please note, parents & guardians will not be able to stay during the audition slot due to limited space in the studios.

SYP is £220 to take part per child.
(Sibling discount available - the first child is £220, and all additional siblings are only £200.)

The fee covers full days training (10am-4pm) on the following dates:
Monday 29th July - Friday 2nd August
(Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August need to be kept available for anyone who is a principal role - no additional charge)
Monday 5th August - Saturday 10th August (Please note Friday 9th & Saturday 10th August will be longer days, with later end times).

Early drop off will be available Monday to Friday from 8.00am for an extra charge of £8 per child. Later end time drop off will be available Monday to Friday until 6pm for an additional charge of £8 per child.

A small non-refundable deposit of £20 will be required to secure your place on the cast, should you be offered a place following the audition day. The remaining balance for the participation fee will be due by Monday 15th July 2024.
